Welcome to Shaman

The problems that we have created at a certain level of thinking cannot be solved at the same level that created them."
-Albert Einstein

We believe that Einstein is identifying the fundamental problem of our time. Our survival is becoming increasingly contingent upon our ability to change, to elevate our "level of thinking."

The Lakota have an expression: "Mitakuye Oyasin" (We are all connected). It is a simple statement, and affirmation of our fundamental interrelatedness. We can no longer afford to focus on aspects that divide and separate us, that create a sense of "otherness". The Xhosa people of Africa have a saying "I am because we are!" Two indigenous people over 8000 miles apart, managed to come to the same conclusion. We are all permutations of one "tribe".

As a Lakota drummer/singer once told me, "It's not just about how all people are connected on the great wheel, but it's also about our other "relatives"; the earth, the sky, the animals, the water, everything we depend on for our survival". We now borrow this motto for Shaman.
